Kirkland Home Tour

Kirkland Home Tour:

We lived in this Kirkland Home from 2009-2012, after living in Pennsylvania and before moving to Eindhoven, the Netherlands.  Our boys were 2 and 3 years old when we moved in, and 5 and 7 years old when we moved to the Netherlands.

This home was in the Rose Hill area of Kirkland, and had great access to city parks, which we spent a lot of time going to. We had a fenced in yard, and three car garage, which was useful with all of the toys the boys had at the time.

We were able to customize some of the features of this home, like the stairwell railing, hardwood floors, and counter materials. Though we were there for only a short time, we have lots of good memories.

What makes a Neighborhood Nice?

This neighborhood was appealing with young children as we had a private fenced in yard, we could walk to multiple parks within the neighborhood, which we used daily, we had a flat driveway for them to play in. The neighborhood was also self contained, with only a handful of homes, and other kids around their age. Our next door neighbor was a high school boy who turned out to be a great babysitter.

We had sidewalks, and street lamps, and close proximity to schools and grocery stores, pharmacies and restaurants, as well as freeway access. I think all of these things contribute to making a neighborhood nice with young kids.
