Road Trip: Vienna, Austria

Our next stop on our road trip was Vienna.  Let me just start by saying, I LOVE VIENNA.  It is such a gorgeous city.  My favorite outing was the Spanish Riding School.  If you can’t make it to an evening performance, I highly recommend attending the morning exercises of the Lippizaner horses set to Austrian classical music.  Don’t be fooled, this spectator event requires waiting in line and purchasing tickets, but the setting alone in the arena at the Hofburg Palace is worth it.  They also offer tours of the stables, but we declined and instead spent our afternoon at the Sisi museum and felt we got to know this interesting character and former queen of the Hapsburg Empire.  There is also Schonbrunn Palace and the Vienna Zoo that are worth a visit, and don’t forget to sample Viennese pastries.
